Because the base is alcohol-based and evaporates quickly, the gel leaves no occlusive film, so it layers well under clothing or compression garments once dry (usually 1–2 minutes). Many users apply it after a cool shower when pores are clean and skin is slightly damp — this can moderate the initial intensity. It can be used before light activity (e.g., a walk) for a fresher start, or after activity as part of cool-down. If you use a body lotion or oil for hydration, apply the gel first, let it absorb completely, then follow with the moisturizer; the reverse order may dilute the cooling effect. There is no cumulative medicinal action, so daily use does not build tolerance or dependence. However, if you notice increasing skin dryness, redness, or irritation with frequent use, reduce frequency or alternate days. People with very dry or eczema-prone skin may find the alcohol drying; a fragrance-free barrier cream applied 30 minutes after the gel can help. As with any cosmetic, discontinue if irritation persists.
