No, do not apply it to cracked heels or any area where the skin is broken, irritated, or damaged. The formula contains salicylic acid and benzoic acid, and acids can sting strongly on open skin and make irritation worse. The product is intended for intact but hardened skin, such as a thick callus or a rough heel where the surface is still closed.
If you have cracks, keep the cream away until the damaged skin has closed and is no longer tender. Once the surface is intact, you can consider it for the remaining thickened skin around the crack, but avoid applying it directly over an area that still feels sore.
If the skin stays very red, swollen, or painful around a crack, do not try to manage it on your own. Ask a specialist for advice appropriate to your situation.
The same rule applies to calluses with a broken surface, blisters, or any area where the skin looks damaged. When in doubt, keep the product away and use a gentler form of foot care.
