Can I use this balm on my face, or is it only for the body?

This is a body balm. It is described for use on areas such as elbows, knees, shoulders, and back, and its texture is a richer emollient balm-cream. Facial skin is generally thinner and more delicate than body skin, and a balm this rich can feel too heavy or clog pores on the face. If you are looking for a facial moisturiser, choose a product specifically formulated for the face.

You can use it on other body areas with dry or rough skin, such as heels, hands, or shins, as long as the skin is intact. Avoid the eye area, lips, and mucous membranes. Do not apply to large open wounds, sunburned or peeling skin, or areas with an active rash.

Because the balm contains retinyl palmitate, a vitamin A derivative, it is worth keeping it away from the face if you already use other vitamin A products, to avoid unnecessary layering. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or have a chronic skin condition, consult a specialist before using a new body product.
