Can I use Sea Fairy just to refresh faded turquoise or blue hair between salon visits?

Yes, refreshing faded color is one of the typical uses for this kind of tinted balm. Because the balm deposits color on the outside of the hair, it can add a new layer of turquoise over a base that has lost intensity after several washes. Many people use it between salon visits instead of reaching for permanent dye.

Expect the refreshed shade to depend on what is already on your hair. If the remaining color is very pale, the new turquoise layer may appear brighter and closer to the fresh shade. If there is still visible pigmented color, the two layers can mix, so the final tone may be deeper or slightly different from the swatch. Very porous areas, such as bleached ends or previously lightened sections, can pick up the pigment faster and hold it more strongly, so the result is not always uniform.

Before applying it to the whole head, run a strand test on an inconspicuous area. This helps you see how the turquoise interacts with your current color, how much intensity you get, and how evenly it is absorbed. If the faded areas are mostly at the ends, you may only need to apply the balm to selected strands or ends rather than the full length.
