Can I use it if I have flaking, itching or a sensitive scalp?

The exfoliator is intended for cosmetic scalp care: it helps remove accumulated dead cells, sebum, sweat and product residue before shampooing. If your flaking or tight feeling is linked to ordinary build-up, styling residue or infrequent scalp cleansing, an enzymatic pre-shampoo step may make the scalp feel fresher and the roots less heavy.

However, it should not be used as a medical solution for dandruff, hair loss, psoriasis, seborrheic dermatitis or other dermatological conditions. If you have open wounds, active inflammation, a diagnosed scalp issue or symptoms that are severe, persistent or worsening, speak with a dermatologist or trichologist before use. Do not apply it to broken skin, and avoid contact with the eyes.

For a sensitive scalp, introduce it cautiously. Use it no more than once a week at first, follow the contact time on the packaging, and avoid combining it in the same wash with other potentially irritating scalp products unless you already know your skin tolerates them. A mild tingling sensation can occur with some scalp products, but burning, strong stinging, redness or discomfort is a sign to rinse thoroughly and stop using it. After exfoliation, shampoo normally and keep the rest of the routine simple so you can judge how your scalp responds.
