Can I mix this castor oil with my face cream or body lotion for extra moisture?

Mixing a drop or two of castor oil into your moisturizer is a practical way to boost occlusion without committing to the oil's heavy texture alone. In the palm of your hand, dispense your usual amount of face cream or body lotion, add 1–2 drops of castor oil, and blend with a fingertip until uniform. Apply immediately — the mixture won't stay stable in the original jar. This works well for localized dry patches: elbows, knees, heels, cuticles, or cheeks that feel tight after cleansing. On the face, limit to areas needing extra barrier support; avoid the T-zone if you're prone to clogged pores, as castor oil rates moderately comedogenic for some skin types. For body use, you can be more generous — mixing 4–5 drops into a palmful of lotion for legs or arms after showering while skin is still damp locks in maximum moisture. Because the oil creates a surface film, you may notice a slight tackiness for 10–15 minutes until it settles. If you use retinoids, strong acids, or prescription topicals, apply the mixed moisturizer after those actives have absorbed, not simultaneously. Always patch test the combination on your inner forearm for 24 hours before facial use.
