Dr.Sante Burdock Hair Oil is a cosmetic intensive nourishing hair oil treatment from the Dr.Sante range, enriched with burdock extract (Arctium lappa), black radish extract, Jerusalem artichoke inulin, wheat germ oil (Triticum vulgare), walnut oil (Juglans regia), Siberian cedar oil (Pinus sibirica), castor oil (Ricinus communis) and olive oil (Olea europaea), for the intensive cosmetic care and nourishment of the hair roots and scalp. Burdock oil — a traditional cosmetic oil in Eastern European hair care — provides the principal lipid carrier base enriched with burdock root phytochemicals, delivering active scalp care and conditioning. Wheat germ oil provides tocopherols (vitamin E complex), phytosterols and omega fatty acids for intensive nourishment of the hair root and scalp. Walnut oil provides omega-3 ALA fatty acids and polyphenolic tannins for scalp conditioning. Siberian cedar oil (Pinus sibirica) provides pinolenic acid (omega-5, an unusual fatty acid found in pine seed oils) and tocopherols. Castor oil provides ricinoleic acid (omega-9) — the principal fatty acid of castor oil, providing the characteristic film-forming, emollient effect prized in hair care. Olive oil provides oleic acid and squalene. The active oil blend provides comprehensive cosmetic nourishment of the scalp and hair root, and helps maintain the appearance of healthy, strong, lustrous hair. 100 ml.

Customer Questions
How do I apply this burdock oil mask for the best results?
This product is designed as a pre-wash treatment, not a leave-in styler. Start with dry, unwashed hair. Part your hair in sections and apply the oil directly onto the scalp and root area using the nozzle or your fingertips — you need enough to coat the skin and the first few centimeters of hair, but not so much that it drips.Massage gently for 2–3 minutes to distribute evenly and stimulate circulation. Leave the mask on for at least 30 minutes; 60 minutes is fine if your schedule allows. For very dry scalps or after heavy heat styling, some users leave it on overnight with a towel on the pillow — just protect bedding.Rinse thoroughly with warm water, then shampoo twice. The first wash breaks down the oil; the second cleans the scalp. Because the formula contains dense oils like castor and olive oil, a second shampoo is usually necessary to avoid residue. Follow with your regular conditioner on lengths only. Use once or twice a week depending on how your scalp and hair respond.
Will this weigh down fine hair or make an oily scalp worse?
The oil phase — castor, olive, wheat germ, walnut, and cedar seed oils — is intentionally rich to form a protective layer on the scalp and reduce moisture loss. That richness is exactly what helps dry, tight, or flaky scalps, but it means the product has a substantial texture. If you have fine hair or a scalp that gets greasy quickly, adjust three variables: amount, area, and time. Use half the quantity you would for thick hair. Concentrate application only on the scalp and the first 2–3 cm of roots — avoid the mid-lengths and ends entirely. Reduce the leave-on time to 15–20 minutes. Shampoo twice as described, and finish with a lightweight conditioner only on the ends.Test once a week for two weeks. If roots look flat or the scalp feels coated the next day, cut frequency to every 10–14 days. The burdock and black radish extracts are included for their traditional use on tired-looking roots, not to regulate sebum production, so they won't "fix" oiliness — but the right technique keeps the treatment from adding to it.
Can I use this alongside medicated scalp treatments or prescription products?
This is a cosmetic oil mask, not a treatment for scalp conditions. If you are using prescription topicals (for example, corticosteroids, minoxidil, antifungal shampoos, or other medicated leave-ons), the occlusive layer created by castor, olive, and other oils could alter how much of the active ingredient penetrates the skin or how long it stays in contact.General guidance: apply any prescribed scalp medication to clean, dry skin first, following your clinician's timing instructions. Wait until it has fully absorbed — usually at least an hour, sometimes longer — before considering an oil mask. Alternatively, use the oil mask on a different day than the medication. Do not mix the oil with prescription products in the same application. If your scalp is currently inflamed, broken, or under active treatment, skip the oil mask until the skin barrier has recovered. The burdock and black radish extracts, while traditional, are not tested for compatibility with drugs. Always confirm with the prescribing professional before adding any occlusive cosmetic to a medicated routine.
How should I store the bottle and how long does it last after opening?
The formula relies on unsaturated plant oils — wheat germ, walnut, cedar seed, and olive oil — which are prone to oxidation over time, especially when exposed to heat, air, and light. Oxidized oils can develop a rancid smell and lose their emollient benefits.Store the bottle upright in a cupboard or drawer at normal room temperature (15–25°C). Avoid the bathroom windowsill, radiator shelf, or any spot with direct sunlight. After each use, wipe the nozzle clean and screw the cap on firmly to minimize air contact. The period-after-opening symbol on the packaging indicates 12 months. If the oil develops a sharp, crayon-like, or old-nut smell, or if the color darkens noticeably, discard it — these are signs the lipids have oxidized. Unopened, the shelf life is typically 30 months from manufacture when stored correctly. The 100 ml size is designed to be used up within the PAO window with weekly application.

What it is

Dr.Sante Burdock Hair Oil 100 ml is a scalp and root oil treatment chosen when hair feels dry at the base, looks dull, or seems more fragile from styling, washing, or seasonal stress. This is not a silicone shine product for instant gloss. It is an oil blend designed to sit on the scalp and roots for a while, so the emollient oils and plant extracts can soften the skin, reduce roughness and dryness, and leave hair looking smoother and more resilient after washing.

Key components

The formula is built around burdock, a classic ingredient in Eastern European hair traditions. In cosmetics, burdock is valued less as a dramatic quick fix and more as a steady conditioning extract for the scalp area. Here it is paired with:

  • Burdock — a steady conditioning extract for the scalp area.
  • Black radish extract — often used in scalp products aimed at tired-looking hair at the roots.
  • Inulin from Jerusalem artichoke — a plant-derived polysaccharide that helps hold moisture and gives a softer, less stripped feel.

The oil phase is what gives this product its rich, nourishing character:

  • Wheat germ oil — brings vitamin E compounds and fatty acids.
  • Walnut and cedar seed oils — add further lipids and antioxidants.
  • Castor oil — known for ricinoleic acid and its dense, coating texture.
  • Olive oil — contributes oleic acid and squalene, helping the blend spread well and reduce a dry, stiff feel.

Together, these oils form a protective layer on the scalp and hair roots, helping limit moisture loss and improving softness and manageability.

When people choose it

This type of product suits people who like:

  • Pre-wash oiling, scalp massage, or richer treatments during colder months.
  • Extra care after frequent heat styling.
  • Support when lengths and roots feel depleted.

It can fit well into a wash-day ritual when you have time to leave an oil mask on before shampooing.

Important notes

  • If your scalp is reactive or easily weighed down, start with a small amount and see how your skin and hair respond.
  • Avoid contact with eyes.
  • If irritation or allergy signs appear, stop use.
