Medikomed Cinnamon Essential Oil is a pure, naturally derived essential oil obtained from the bark of the true cinnamon tree (Cinnamomum verum), also known as Ceylon cinnamon or "true" cinnamon. The warm, sweet, richly spiced and distinctively aromatic character of cinnamon essential oil is one of the most recognisable and widely used scents in aromatherapy and fragrance applications. The oil has been used throughout history for both its distinctive aroma and its traditional uses as a warming, stimulating, and invigorating aromatic ingredient.
In aromatherapy, cinnamon bark oil is prized for its warming, energising, and uplifting scent quality — it is considered a spicy, warming aromatic with a complex character that combines sweetness with pungency. The oil is highly concentrated and must always be heavily diluted before any skin contact, as cinnamon bark oil is one of the most potent known dermal sensitisers and can cause severe skin irritation if applied undiluted. It is particularly well suited for use in aroma diffusers and room fragrance applications.

Medikomed Cinnamon Essential Oil 10 ml is a pure cinnamon bark essential oil from Cinnamomum verum, also known as Ceylon or “true” cinnamon. People usually choose this type of essential oil for its intensely warm, spicy-sweet aroma that quickly changes the atmosphere of a room. In aromatherapy blends, cinnamon is often used when someone wants a more energising, vivid scent profile rather than something light or floral.
What makes cinnamon bark oil notable is its naturally high concentration of aromatic compounds that give it a strong, penetrating fragrance. In plain terms, these volatile molecules disperse easily into the air, which is why even a very small amount can feel powerful in a diffuser. The scent is often described as warming and stimulating, so it can suit moments when a space feels dull, cold or heavy and you want a richer, more expressive aromatic note.
This oil comes from the bark rather than the leaf, which matters because bark oils are typically deeper, sweeter and much more intense. Cinnamon has a long history in perfumery, traditional household ароматics, and seasonal fragrance blends, where it has been valued for its recognisable spicy character. It pairs especially well with orange, clove, vanilla-like notes and other resinous or woody essential oils in home fragrance use.
For most people, the most practical way to use Medikomed essential oil is in a diffuser or in very small amounts within a diluted oil blend for aromatic purposes. It may appeal to those who enjoy rich oriental, festive or cosy scent compositions and want to add warmth to their home atmosphere. Because cinnamon bark oil is extremely concentrated, more is not better here.
Please use this essential oil with great caution. Cinnamon bark oil is known to be a strong skin sensitiser, so it should never be applied neat and should only be used in very low dilution if added to a cosmetic base. Avoid use during pregnancy and for children, and keep it away from eyes and mucous membranes. If your skin is reactive or you are unsure whether strong essential oils suit you, it is wise to choose a milder aromatic oil or ask a qualified specialist before use.
