Medikomed Bergamot Essential Oil is a pure essential oil cold-pressed from the peel of the bergamot fruit (Citrus bergamia), a citrus hybrid grown primarily in the Calabria region of southern Italy. Bergamot essential oil is one of the most versatile and widely used essential oils in aromatherapy and perfumery: it provides the characteristic aromatic backbone of classic Eau de Cologne and is the defining scent of Earl Grey tea. Its aromatic profile is bright, fresh, and citrusy with a distinctive floral and slightly spicy undertone, balancing light sweetness with refreshing complexity.
In aromatherapy, bergamot essential oil is widely used in diffuser blends for its uplifting, fresh, and pleasant aromatic quality that creates an invigorating atmosphere. The 10 ml bottle is suitable for use in aroma diffusers, bath additions (when diluted in a carrier), and as a component in massage oil blends. Important note: bergamot essential oil naturally contains bergapten (a furanocoumarin), which makes it phototoxic — it should not be applied to skin areas that will be exposed to sunlight or UV light within 12 hours of application. USE: Aroma diffuser: 1 drop. Bath (diluted in carrier oil first): 1–2 drops. Massage blend: 2–3 drops per 10 ml carrier oil. Cosmetic aromatisation: 1–4 drops per recipe.
WARNINGS: PHOTOTOXIC — Do NOT apply to skin that will be exposed to sunlight or UV light within 12 hours of application. This oil contains bergapten (a natural furanocoumarin) which can cause severe skin reactions under UV exposure. For external use only. Always dilute in a carrier oil before skin contact. Avoid contact with eyes. Perform a sensitivity test before use. Keep out of reach of children. Not for internal use.
