Ylang-ylang essential oil has the following effects:
- Beneficially affects the cardiovascular and nervous system;
- Relaxes, eliminates fears, improves sleep, helps cope with insomnia;
- Relieves PMS, menopause, and balances hormonal levels;
- Suitable for sensitive and porous skin care, rejuvenates, moisturizes, and evens out the skin;
- Normalizes the functioning of sebaceous glands with problematic skin, reduces inflammation, effective for acne;
- Used to strengthen and polish nails, eliminates splitting and brittleness;
- Good for strengthening hair, eliminating brittleness, split ends, and greasiness;
- An aphrodisiac - increases sexual desire.
Methods of using essential oils
Aroma lamp. Ventilate the room, close the windows. Pour warm water into the aroma lamp, add essential oil there (2 drops per 5 m2 of room area). Light a candle under the aroma lamp. The water should not boil. Lamp operating time: from 20 minutes to 2 hours. Do not leave a burning lamp unattended. Add water as needed.
Aroma pendant: Put 3-5 drops of oil or oil blend into an aroma pendant and wear it around your neck throughout the day.
Aromatic baths. Fill the bath with comfortably warm water. Mix essential oil in a base (sea salt, milk, kefir) in the following proportions:
For a full bath - 8 drops for general strengthening, 10-13 for therapeutic purposes
For a sitting bath - 2 drops for general strengthening, 4 for therapeutic purposes
For hands and feet - 4 drops of oil per container.
Bath time - 10-20 minutes.
Compresses. Dissolve up to 5 drops of essential oil or oil blend in 1 cup of water (as for baths). Moisten a cotton cloth in this solution and apply to the desired area for 2 hours. The water for compresses in case of rheumatic, muscular, or joint pains should be hot (40-45 °C). Cover with film, keep until it cools to body temperature. After the compress has cooled, remove the film, dry with a towel, and wrap with a dry and warm cloth to retain warmth.
Cold compresses are made with cooled water or ice. They help with headaches (apply to the forehead or back of the head), strains, swelling, and bruises.
Massage and rubbing. Mix essential oil (3-5 drops per 10 ml) in vegetable cosmetic oil, cream, and apply to the skin, then massage according to the body's condition.
Enrichment of shampoos, shower gels, creams: add 2-3 drops of oil or oil blend per 10-15 g of enriched product.
As perfumes - 1 drop on the inner part of the wrist or on the inner parts of clothing seams, also on the hair.
Spraying 5-20 drops of essential oils (aroma compositions), dissolved in 1 tablespoon of alcoholic product, add to a sprayer filled with 1 liter of plain water. Then shake the vessel and spray the mixture in the room.
PRECAUTIONS:
Take into account individual intolerance!
Before the first use, a recommended test* should be done to exclude allergic reactions.
Be cautious with minimal doses: pregnancy (2nd, 3rd trimester), lactation period, children under 6 years old, may lower blood pressure.
Contraindications: pregnancy 1st trimester, mental illnesses.
If undergoing a course of homeopathy, consult on the possibility of combining with the use of essential oils.
*TEST for sensitivity: 1 drop of essential oil + 1 drop of any base oil, mix, apply to the inner surface of the wrist/elbow bend; if no allergic reactions occur within 24 hours, you can use this essential oil.
All essential oils, without exception, are natural; when observing the dosage, they do not have a negative side effect on the body, do not cause addiction or decrease in effectiveness, and do not cause imbalance of physiological processes in the body.
To achieve a positive therapeutic effect, the aroma must be pleasant. When conducting an aromatherapy session, it is advisable to increase the amount of consumed plain water, as natural essential oils accelerate metabolic processes.
