Detailed description:
Spruce resin is a traditional and newly discovered ingredient used in wound care in Northern Europe. It helps to limit the growth of microbes and fungi, and has now been found to be useful in treating pressure sores (also known as bedsores). Beeswax makes the ointment pleasantly thick and forms a layer that helps retain moisture and reduce dryness. Beeswax also promotes the regeneration of skin cells. Polyunsaturated fatty acids in rapeseed oil promote the synthesis of ceramides and collagen production in the skin, thus maintaining a healthy skin barrier. Rapeseed oil contains vitamin E, a beneficial antioxidant for the skin that improves oxygen exchange in skin cells and strengthens capillaries.
